Madam K's opened relatively recently in old ballard in a building reported to have once housed a brothel. The resturaunt took this them and ran, making a fun dining experience, and a great night out. The waitresses are often dressed up in costume lengerie (not too revealing don't worry--this is all in good fun)--although that side of the atmosphere has tapered off some since I first ate there. Everyone working there is very good natured, and seems to have a lot of fun. The food itself is what you really go to Madam K's for. THey make their own variety of Pizza, don't go there to compare it to some authentic Napoli ciusine you had in Europe, it's not about that. The food is great, all the pizzas have fun names based loosly around the old brothel theme. They clearly use the best ingredients, and they cook with creativity. You never leave their hungry. As a testement to how good this place is, they get VERY crowded on the weekend. If you want to go on a Friday or Saturday for dinner, I suggest showing up early, after 6 things pick up quickly, and you could end up waiting out on the sidewalk for a while. Also, if you intend to meet friends there, understand that because of their popularity, Madam K's won't seat you'r party until you all arrive, so get all your friend s to show up on time. My favorite pie there is the Artie Parmie--they have it at the top of the page in a special box for a reason--it is so good. Be sure to try their other pizzas too though; the white pie from heaven is excellent, and their pesto just ROCKS! Don't be too surprised (or do anything rash) whenn your waitress asks if yu want an orgasm--it's their desert, and you do want it. Sometimes you think you want to share one with your wife, but let me tell you, you both want your own. Soo good.

The atmosphere at Madame K's is hysterical. It is a old brothel and you definitely know it. The menu names reflect this theme and the food is great! The pizza good and the desserts are awesome - especially the half baked cookie dough and ice cream (I will let you find out what the name of that item is!). It isn't a large restaurant so it can be a little bit of a wait for a large party or on a Friday night.
