I was pleasantly surprised by the meal I had recently at Serafina. It was a beautiful Seattle spring evening so the windows and doors were open, and the back patio was full. It was a very lovely setting for a delicious fresh meal. I started with a cold tomatoe bisque that was light and refreshing. For the main course, I had the Spinaci e Ricotta al Forno, which were large spinach and ricotta dumplings that were fresh, light and very good. We sampled a variety of the desserts, each of which were delicious. The creme brulee was smooth, creamy and tasty. The chocolate mousse was also extremely good. I found this to be a very good Italian meal for a decent price range.

I have always loved Serafina's. My wife and I had our first date there and later dined there before I proposed. The ambience is sensationally romantic and often augmented with special live music. The wine is soothing along with the city's best antipasti. A fresh salad (real Caesar plus a real anchovy *yum*) to go with a delicious and often quite exotic (duck, boar, pheasant) main course. Don't miss the grilled pork or fresh ravioli. Eat slow, order dessert and a coffee and breathe in the atmosphere. This is my favorite special occassion restaurant, but it often draws us in any old time.

This is a great restaurant to go with a date. It is small, comfy, expensive and tasteful. The food is excellent, portions are medium to large and the service is perfect.
